Some additional bulk editing of data include:
Cost, date of purchase, PO number, Invoice number, documents (which can be referred to from the reference library)An error occurred while saving the comment Tiffany Lam commented
Oh hi, just adding details as there was a message:
-----
Thank you, Tiffany for this idea.
Please provide some ideas on how would you narrow down the list of assets to those that you want to edit and what fields are most commonly edited in bulk?
For example, I have 50 printers for which I want to change their location to a new building. I search by equipment standard and current location. Select them all and then edit building code field.
----
That would be one good use case, an indeed for the use case, now that you have the ability to bulk edit, now you can quickly start tracking the following:
- location
- status - This is top place for editing
- condition
-condition index - clients are getting back condition data
- years life expectancy - after a life cycle survey - ie we did a bunch of maintenance work, as a result this equipment can now last another 2 years.
-cost to replace - once a client tries to filter what is near end of life
-warranty code
-warranty date expires - clients can renew warranty for equipment
- equipment use
- equipment category
- CSI values (1, 2, 3, 4)
- equipment attributes
- department - change of ownership
- division
-Criticality - often clients are trying to track risk of an asset, either that or they track that in the equipment attributes
-custodian
- additional comments - where it can just append the comments - I edited the life expectancy because of abcd reasons.Nice to haves:
- equipment description
- equipment standard
-other date like fieldsIt'll probably be worth needing a certain security group to make these edits I guess.

Sometimes there may be equipment to search for and it's not hard to search for a fire extinguisher if we name it properly. However, it may be worth have something to classify it for safety purposes.
It’s the idea that:
1. we are dealing with an extra field for a safety role when it comes to people
2. we are dealing with an extra field for a safety function if it’s about equipment
3. The workplace needs a way to enable specific fields into the search capability. Ie. The configuration parameter may allow someone to specify Em.safety_role;eq:safety_role
