  1. In my experience with various clients that are using this module we have found the structure of the Project Budget versus Actuals makes it very tedious for clients to manage the financials in ARCHIBUS.

    Typical Capital Project Scenarios are as follows:
    Organizations have a set budget for Capital construction/Renovation projects. They setup work packages which are contracted to vendors. The vendors submit the invoices at actuals. There are some internal costs but these are minimal.

    In ARCHIBUS, they setup the Budget numbers on the Action Items. The actuals are recorded under the Work Package/Contract/Invoices.

    The variance reports don't take this…

  3. Every Organization has a slightly different way of managing project and tracking details. Allowing users to add these fields via configuration will make the implementation of this module easier.

    Also, allowing the user to decide on which fields show up on the Project Management Console and the Project Dashboard will be a huge win.

  4. When a specific problem is identified within the Maintenance Console, the ability to group 1 or more Work Request to a Project Request or to a Protect Template to kick of a project (i.e. replacing an AHU/s, ext.) These are happening more where a maintenance job will be combine and will take longer to complete

  5. The product currently has limited 3 approval captures per project. Archibus would offer a more competitive edge to be able to setup workflows and set as many approvals need in the tool throughout the life cycle of the project. Sort of like an SLA where it's configurable to match to features like a project type, or program type or location where it may need multiple approvals and certain conditions.   6. If a Project Template is applied > 1 time to a project, the work packages and actions are duplicated. Adjust the Project Template function so that it identifies existing work packages/actions and updates them instead of creating duplicates and adds new work packages/actions.

  7. All projects perform risk assessments and how to remediate.
    Realistically this could be done with the questionnaire framework in compliance. But we need a bit more functionality.

    1. We can enter a risk within the questionnaire but there needs to be a evaluation of the risk for high, medium, lows, this can be a risk to the schedule or to the cost
    2. There needs to be linkage to remediation actions ie the action items that if completed, it reduces the risk level by how much

  9. Currently it's a single field to track a numeric value for prioritizing projects. Clients with a large portfolio need a way to streamline what projects to prioritize. The project area should have a matrix weights and values that affect the ranking of a project which clients can define.

    For example the matrix can be along a measure of risk or feasibility (high to low) vs Impact to align to corporate priorities ie. work stoppage, quick wins, regulatory, profit gains etc.

  10. It would be ideal if we had User Defined Fields in the Projects table in addition to the other tables these are now available in. We have currently added 6 new fields and are using some existing fields in a way different from there original purpose.

  11. When displaying the planning of a project (Gantt tab from the Project Management Console), it is by default centered on the project start date.
    This is Okay, but it would be nice for the user to be able to center the planning on today's date, by adding a button for that for example, next to the other controls.

  12. If one is using the Project Management Console, When one look at a project and all the actions in the project, one can create a service ticket once the action is in the scheduled status or so.

    But if one goes into a work package which shows a separate set of tabs for the actions, change request, etc, if one goes into the action level for that work package, you cannot create a service ticket here. It would be nice to have that feature consistent.

  13. As of now USER DEFINED FIELDS (UDF) can be added through coding, We want here should be a feature in Web Central, from where we can add the new UDF's without touching the code.

    This feature is requested by most of the Japanese market clients

  14. Some projects are feasibility studies and not the actual, it would be great with Archibus could handle some scenario planning around projects.
    Basically it would need the following:
    1. an ability to replicate a project an set as a scenario project
    2. a report to compare the performance of two projects based on factors such as a prioritization matrix, risk etc.
    3. There are reports like the project scorecard which evaluates costs vs schedule but there is currently no way to only compare a few selected projects with that report.
    4. There are reports such as compare annual project costs…

  15. The Project Management console has a team tab which is pretty good in general to add people to the team, where it's missing functionality is to have additional fields to track the stakeholder registration. Aside from the role, the additional stakeholder fields are:
    * Influence/Power level - their ability to cast decisions on the project
    * Interest Level - their value to the project
    * Support level - their ability to support activities
    * RACI concepts of Responsible level, Informed Level etc.

    * Function - what they are actually doing
    * Expectation - what their focus is
    * Communication Requirements…

  16. In Projects, once a project has been created and then requested, it then needs to be routed for approval. Once an employee has been selected as an approving manager, it is up to that employee to approve or reject it, or else it is stuck in that state.

    If that employee is unavailable for whatever reason (left the organization, no longer in the same role, on vacation, or hit by a bus), that project can not be actioned on.

    I can think of a few solutions to this,

    1. Provide a function like Assign Substitutes like in the Maintenance and Service…

  18. Enhancement request – Our customer is requesting that “Project Type” be added as a filter option from Projects | Monitor | View Active Projects Timeline. This filter option is provided on all of the other reports and views under the Monitor submenu. This is how our customer’s Managers will be filtering their projects.
