Archibus Navigation and Home Pages
In V.24.4, Archibus Cloud is rolling out a new sidebar navigation style that looks similar to Serraview 3.0. It includes:
- Favorites: a list of views that each user can identify as their go-to set of views
- Shortcuts: a list of views that the BP or admin can specify for each module
- Search: search for any view or report
The navigation also allows users to access Home Pages, which allow for the same flexibility of dashboard controls and task navigation as before. Please review the attached screenshots and short movie.
Going forward, essentially the user has two navigation choices: the Home Pages as before, and this new Sidebar, which replaces the older Process Navigator.
For V.25.1, which is a release of the full software offering, the new Sidebar navigation must be able to present many more applications than in Archibus Cloud. The attached document "v25-1-Navigation-System-Proposed-Design-R01.docx" proposes a design for the Sidebar for circumstances where the list of available applications is long. Please review, comment, and vote on this direction.

We and our customers prefer the home pages with no navigation bar. Favorites and search are nice, but the "new" navigator seems like a step backwards.

When presenting ARCHIBUS to clients and prospects, I like to create a Favorites list of views that I plan to show. It simplifies the navigation and allows me to quickly change the list. One of the drawbacks is the display order for the views. I was advised that views saved to Favorites are attributed to Hotlist in the PTASKS table. I updated the display order of the views for the PTASKS but it only affected the Home Page Bucket but not the list in the Favorites in the side bar menu. Is there a way to change the display order of the Favorites. I hope it is an easy fix.

We should keep the possibility of having "task buckets" and enable actions and links on all the dashboard elements like metrics, gauges, building summaries, etc. As stated on the notes from the meeting with Octavian, John and Bar.
