Merge Reservation and Hoteling Together
Both applications have some key features that the other does have. Implementers are faced with making the decision whether or not to use hoteling or use reservations to satisfy the client requirements.
For example if we're comparing highlights:
Reservation:
-Calendar console views
-outlook plug in reservations
-Time selection
Hoteling:
-Back to work Cleaning functionality
-better access to change this data within space management
-utilization and occupancy reports reflect on this data set
If they were merged, all that would be needed is a some sort reservation type field to track if a calendar event is created or if there's shifts (actually with this back to work concept, there's anywhere from 2-4 time shifts) or pick your time.
Also if it was merged then reports would roll up occupancy and utilization a lot better.

We're looking for a way to manage agile seating in our international service centers. In our Polish pilot location we have 140 employees out of 600 on the same floor who work in different shifts which are aligned to the businesses they support:
8:00-16:30
8:30-17:00
9:00-17:30
9:30-18:00
10:00-18:30
10:30-19:00
13:00-21:00
16:00-24:00
17:00-1:00A simple morning/afternoon approach using the Hoteling application will not work, as the shifts overlap. Using the Reservation application would work with some limitations (e.g. no check for double-bookings for the same employee, no reservations over midnight, buttons and panel titles always referring to "meeting" space). It would be good to merge the 2 applications, or at least to have more flexibility (parameters) to configure the front end (Archibus Workplace). We will most likely use both applications in parallel for now, the Hoteling application for the overwhelming majority of employees and desks with regular office hours, and the Reservations for shift workers and their desks (on the same floor).
