Limit Floor Capacity
As an administrator, I would like to be able to set a floor capacity for the maximum number of desk bookings per floor that will be accepted by Engage. Once this floor capacity has been reached. No additional new bookings will be accepted for this floor.
Further enhancement:
- Notify administrators when floor capacity is reached (or a threshold will be reached) to then release an additional floor for booking
- Wait list for staff who wish to book on a floor that is at capacity, to then be notified when a new floor is released
This will allow me to limit the number of people on the floor, and reduce the number of people using common services like kitchens, toilets and collaboration areas.

Thank you for the suggestion. I agree that this is an important feature for making it simple to get staff back to work.
We are in the process of designing this feature.

With occupancy levels fluctuating across the days of the week. We are wanting to consolidate and only open floors to meet the demand for the day. There are two benefits we are aiming for:
Firstly - Creating an environment where - there are more opportunities for incidental collaboration (as a result of people occupying a smaller area).
Secondly - Reducing the financial and environmental cost of under / un-utilised floors.

When the building sets a reservation limit, the overbook user is not able to know when is the next available for booking.
Having waitlist function for over book. The user is temporarily put on the waitlist, notification sends when the reservation is available from someone drops.

Would like users to be able to waitlist themselves to get a desk reservation on a specific floor

It has been suggested that the per-desk booking might be a little bit too prescriptive and granular, and the idea came up that if we had a per-floor booking system, where the capacity was monitored and no further bookings could be made for a certain floor upon hitting a given limit. This would let our users retain a little license and control around where they sit, make them feel a little less regimented, provide for a little more flexibility and avoid any per-desk contention.
Could this be investigated in the future.

Great idea! Very relevant for those in Victoria who are now allowed 25% of their workforce to return to the office from Nov 30.
This will make it easier for system admins to set a capacity number against the building or floor, rather than update the VBS to remove bookable desks.
In addition to this, if the capacity numbers change, this will impact future reservations in the system. We need a way to gracefully inform people who have a future booking to re-book their desk due to the change in capacity.
