Block and stack based on information apart from organisation structure
At unimelb, each user belongs to a research group. The property team allocates desks on the floor by research group for each of the users. However, the research group is not part of current organization structure.
As a result, unimelb needs the ability to block & stack and report by research group.
What is therefore required is the ability to leverage research group stored against staff and block floors accordingly.
Eg: User A belongs to ‘Physics R&D’ research group. User A has org unit ‘MSE’ and ‘10001’ as cost centre.
On VBS, planner will create ‘Physics R&D’ team as opposed to team using org unit ‘MSE’.
Floor would be blocked and stacked using ‘Physics R&D’
Reports will group users/desks/utilization by ‘Physics R&D’
VBS will show stats on ‘Physics R&D’

The way the org structure appears does not reflect the way we identify or know the teams. Also booking feature based on team size, but the breakdown is different to the actual team size as we would define the team. Can this be changed? Can there be a mechanism to allow us to change the way the teams are named/defined within the app to reflect our actual org structure?
