1. Alert /metric notifications to 'find' a user to notify instead of identify the exact user to notify

   The ability for metrics to send notification is a good thing but it's very cumberstone to manage since the administrator has to pick and choose who exactly is to be notified when a trigger is met. It would be more efficient for the system to have the ability to use SQL statements to find emails based on a criteria. For example the following types of notifications would really benefit in these use cases:

   1. Project team notification use case - setup a SQL statement to find emails from the team table where it's tied to a project met in the metric who are current and are vendors or have a role like 'stakeholder' to alert them of items that are behind schedule.

   2. Contact Tracing use case - setup a sql statement to find emails based on the visitors and employees who have hotelled a space or had a reservation as of last 10 days because they now all are encouraged to get a covid test.

   3. Compliance events - the issue right now is the compliance notifications are also based on naming a person one at a time, it would be nice if that was SQL based so we can find the email based on the responsible person to an event that triggered the alert.

   in order for the system to do this, the system would benefit from showing a list of fields/tables used in the metrics that it can leverage to do a query on.

   There are many other use cases so I encourage others to add uses where you want the system to be able to find the right person to email and not the administrators naming exact people to email.

2. Commas in a file name

   We ask the possibility to remove the commas in a file name automatically when a user uploads a new document with commas in the file name or the possibility to implement a check to avoid the uploading of a file containing comma/s in its name.

3. User activity - PM Schedules etc.

   There are a number of places where it would be nice to know who has set up what and this is one area lacking in Archibus.

   A big area for us, which can cause issues and can need correcting, are PM scheduling. as we have no idea who has set up a schedule we have no accountability when things are done incorrectly.

   Surely it can't be that difficult to log the user who created the schedule against the PMS record.

   This principle can easily apply to several areas across Archibus. Where things are done, created, amended but we have no idea by who.

   There are a number of places where it would be nice to know who has set up what and this is one area lacking in Archibus.

4. Define Compliance Questionnaire - restrict the look up question

   The compliance questionnaire question builder has a good look up option except there is no restriction in place so if the user should be selecting only a subset, say 10 particular answers, but they get to access a whole table, they can be accessing 30000 records when they don't need it.

   It would be nice to either
   1. define an advance search for the look up, could be tough since all tables have their own fields
   2. apply a SQL restriction

   Some examples where there would be too long of a look up:
   1. Trying to find a room but then gets all rooms
   2. Trying to find an equipment of a certain type but then all equipment show up

5. Configurable field naming for fields (since Multi-line headers don't seem to work globally)

   It would be better to have a framework that supports easy global field renaming. Multi-line headers used to be the quicker way to modify the field names but even then it was not a global effect due to potentially hard coded titles within the axvws.

   It should noted that even if you change the multi line headings that the workplace portal is hard-coded to use a separate language and file system to reference the field names. Also the newer html5 like views tend to ignore the multi line headings.

   One example of needed configurable field name is rooms. Many see that a concept of a room doesn't align to modern day vocabulary. A room originally appears to be a space clearly defined by 4 walls. But nowadays many people use a concept of a 'resource' or a 'space.' It would be nice to really have a configurable field ability that is transparent across the application (from the reports, to the navigator, to the portal).
   
   Ie some may also call it an asset.

6. archibus.log sql statements

   Starting from 2022.02 seems that there is no more option to disable prepared statements globally in web central.

   You need to take each parameter one by one and replace the ? value in original sql. If the parameter is of type date the thing is even more complex as you need to convert the date string into date object (to_date(……).
   So for debug purposes these are almost useless.

   My suggestion is to update DbConnectionImpl class and to adapt these 2 methods and use them instead of just logging the original sql string. This should work for Oracle

7. Update connector email to include Connector Description

   When migrating code and connectors to different environments for a client, often times the connectors in DEV, UAT and PROD will have the same connector name. This could be due to many factors, including custom db code that runs based on the connector name.

   It would be helpful to include the Connector Description in the email that is sent out via the connector email notifications. This way the connector code can remain the same in all environments w/ only the description being updated to include the environment name being sent from.

   This would also be nice to include so that users that receive the email get a description as to what the connector is doing / does (provided thats included in the description field.

8. Batch Emails Before Sending

   Currently, Archibus sends an email notification as soon as it's created in the system. This is usually fine for small volumes of email, but some SMTP servers won't allow Archibus to authenticate multiple times in a row in quick succession. Please consider adding a batching mechanism, so emails can be sent in groups using a single authentication with the SMTP server.

9. Queue Failed Notifications For Resending

   Create a queue for notifications, so Archibus can resend when there's a temporary mail server outage. Currently, if a notification fails because of an issue with the mail server, then that notification is "lost".

10. Notifications Log - Missing Create Date in Filter and Result Set

    After v26.3, Eptura added 4 new fields to the [afmnotificationslog] table. These fields are, [createdtime], [createdat], [emailcc], and [emailbcc].

    The View Notifications Log view in WebCentral that is used to view with Notification Log has not been updated to include those fields. The number of records in that table can get quite large, making the filters very valuable. In v26.3 and earlier, the Search by Date Range - From and Search by Date Range - To were valuable to search by the [serverdatesent] value. Since v26.3, the [created_at] is used when notifications are generated, but there is no way to filter or sort by date to find those notifications now.

    It would be nice to be able to filter and search for all fields in [afmnotificationslog], but I don't think it would be necessary. I think just having the four new fields in the result set would be a minimum and adding the [createdat] and [createdtime] to the filter would be one step better. That way, users can at least search for new or recently created notifications. Allowing users to add/remove fields in the result would be nice, but is also not necessary.

11. Ability to join more than direct relations in Reports Central

    From Reports Central you can only join directly related tables (for example Floor to Building) but the joined table cannot be related to their related tables (for example Floor to Building to Sites)

14. Record ID in Event Log

    In the "Data Events Log" for a Record Change, the view shows who made the change and when. Clicking on the record shows the old and new values for the fields that were change. However, nothing tells me which record it was changed for.

    I recommend adding a new field to the table for the pkey value. When changes are recorded, populate that field with the pkey value and display it in the primary view (search results) for the data event log view.

    Example I have it tracking the equipment table and I changed the status of a piece of equipment. I can see that I changed in from In Service to In Storage, but nothing tells me it was for equipment record SRL-0110. I can only see that in Smart Client and only if I sift through the concatenated values to find the primary record value. End users should be able to see that quickly in the Data Event Log view.

15. View Access Security

    Please add a better option for view level security. The current restrictLoadingOfUnassignedViews setting makes startup take 2-3 hours for many clients, which is unacceptable.

    I would suggest using the afmptasks.securitygroup field to prevent users without the security group assigned from opening the view at all. At the platform level, an "afterViewLoad" check could be performed to check that field and show a message instead of loading view if they are not authenticated.

16. Profile pop-up feedback duration after changing locale

    Client feedback (Archibus SaaS) for the dialog message indicating that a user has to sign-out and sign-in after changing the the locale is too short.
    The request would be to make the duration a little longer or replace the temporary message with a pop-up giving the option to Logout Now.

    UX reading suggests the time for the popup be 1 second for every 4 words which translates into the popup being 4-5 seconds especially for the French language and it is also compounded by the fact there are 2 pop-ups at the same time (The other being 'Record Saved')

17. Ability to add links that can open URLs to sites that require sign-on/open in a new tab

    Currently we can create custom tasks that redirect to URLs in View Definition Wizard. However it seems that these URLs do not properly load within Archibus when they require some sort of log-in (ex for google docs or sites created by Canva).

    Please provide an option for a URL to load in a new tab from an Archibus task (I believe that this may resolve the issue)

19. Set fiscal year based on the end month

    This is a request for additional functionality related to fiscal year setup.
    Briefly, I would like to be able to determine the fiscal year based on the end month in Archibus.

    With the current specifications, Archibus determines the fiscal year based on the start month. For example, if the starting month is April, the fiscal year 2023 would be from April 2022 to March 2023.

    For example, in Japan, a typical fiscal year's period is from April to March of the following year. For example, fiscal year 2015 is from April 2015 to March 2016 in Japan.
    In other words, the same fiscal year would be one year off.
    The fiscal year is used frequently for analysis and other purposes in Japan, so it is quite critical. Many Archibus reporting views also use the fiscal years, but using it confuses users because they are not the correct fiscal year for Japan. Most of our Japanese customers point this out.

20. UserVoice votes based on licenses weighting instead of just 2 votes per customer

    I very much appreciate the concept behind UserVoice allowing Archibus to develop the features their customers need based on the most voted topics.

    This said I have an issue that every customer gets 2 (two) votes regardless of the size.

    I work for a public administration of +50.000 staff members and having just two votes for such a big organization is kind of ridiculous as although me and my co-voter try to push our ideas forward we are drown by the votes of very small companies. it is not just the two UserVoice voters that are just using Archibus but all the users they represent.

    Giving the UserVoice voters a weight based on the cumulated number of licenses they pay and use would be much fairer.

    For example for a single topic a single vote of a company with 200 licenses would have the same weight as 4 votes coming from 4 distinct companies with 50 licenses.

    I very much appreciate the concept behind UserVoice allowing Archibus to develop the features their customers need based on the most voted topics.
