Ability to assign multiple User Roles to User
A single user would then become a part of multiple user roles either increasing their ability to view/access areas of Archibus or gradually restricting their access / VPA as roles are assigned to them.
Therefore a user with more than one role would see all the processes for all the roles and apply all their VPA restrictions.
This would allow admins to create roles per application (for example) and assign those to different users11 votes -
View File Limit and use same functionality on all views
When Scheduling a craftsperson to a work request, if you click on assign craftsperson and click on the ellipse for craftsperson code, not all records are shown, see the screen print attached. A suggestion is to make all the views the same as a defined employee for example where one can use the next button where it will display the universal amount on each page. Note: the universal limit setting in afm-config.xml for record limit works but makes the system very slow.

Flush Cached User Accounts and Roles - control over what can be flushed
When making changes to a specific role, make it possible to only flush changes for the role(s) that were changed rather than all roles.
When there are 80 users in the system, it is hard to implement a quick change to 1 role because flushing kicks out all users in the system.11 votes -
User Management - Login Timestamp and Account Status
For many clients, there are critical needs and often government compliance requirements for user accounts. Clients are required to suspend access if a user has not logged in for a certain period (such as 90 days), and sometimes to delete a user if they have not logged in for a certain period (such as 180 days).
I am aware of the GDPR functionality. While that is useful for account deletion, the Archibus system lacks the necessary information to make any determinations on when to set the deletion date. If using SSO, we may or may not be able to get…

BIM Viewer - ACC Models navigation
A person who uses an ACC account should se many different folders & models depending on its ACC rights. Only a few of them are related to the Facility Management « live » processes.
It must be possible to limit the ACC folder to a specified sub-tree.
The objective is to avoid opening models not related to ARCHIBUS, or which can alternative versions.
It must be possible to define a unique list of models behind the « building » button?
It should be setup in the afm_dwgs table with defining the right place to find them in ACC.

Azure AD Connector
Archibus needs a connector ability to connect to Azure AD to important to the employee table. The existing options are limited and not all IT groups are approving them. The Azure AD connection is available in other tools and the preferred route for IT security groups.

mail OAUTH2
Microsoft is making the move to disable basic authentication for mail services. Going forward, all authentication must be done through OAUTH2.
Can Archibus be upgraded to allow OAUTH2 authentication with SMTP servers?10 votes -

REST APIs and SAML/SSO
REST APIs need to be able to be configured/enabled along w/ using SAML SSO.
Currently, if SAML is configured, there does not appear to be a way to access the sub-url api/v1/data using the tokens accessed via Okta

Retain a view as you switch between views so you do not have to reload a previous view.
Let's say during your internet browsing window, you are in the Space console, where you have already opened up a floor plan, and certain highlights and mid way modifying some data when you realize you need to switch to another view. It would be great if the framework doesn't lose that view when switching so if you can go to another area, say the define locations, then switch back to the say the first view without having to reapply all the setting options.

Allow license to be split unevenly during clustering task
The task that splits a license file for use on a cluster always splits it evenly between servers in the cluster. So this is not an ideal tool if you need to split your licenses unevenly, for instance if external contractors use a different authentication method to sign into Web Central than internal staff do (https://www.archibus.net/ai/abizfiles/v24.1_help/archibus_help/system/sysman.htm#security_usage/mixed.htm)
If you have 20 contractors, and 200 internal staff members, you probably don't want a 50/50 split of licenses between these two servers, but this is the only built-in license split that is available.

New field type - URL/Link
Add a new type Archibus in the field definition : 'URL' or link
When the field is in a grid / repport, display the value with a link to open directly the url in a new tab of the browser.
When the field is in a form, a button to open the url in a new tab.
When you save a new URL; chek the format of the data (http://... or ftp...) and url formated.9 votes -
Accessibility should be on all the time
With Accessibility being added to the application, it should be on by default and not even a configuration parameter.
Having to debug issues with it on and off adds considerable time to implementation for both the consumers and for ARCHIBUS. Having to support only one development stream is in everyone's best interest.
Its 2021, accessibility should just be there and there really isn't a valid reason why someone should want to turn it off.

Empty Schema shouldn't have data
The empty schema database that ships with ARCHIBUS should only have the bare essential users (AFM, SYSTEM, GUEST) and roles to get the application running.
If you feel like the large volume of users & roles are needed, it should still be empty, but perhaps a task under system admin can be run to generate those users and roles.

Edit Archibus Data Dictionary Enum List Validation check
Edit Archibus Data Dictionary Enum List Validation check, ab-edit-data-dictionary.axvw - can we add some kind of validation check to enumlist so that it is in the correct format and enum value is actually in database? From time to time, admin user might make some update on enumlist incorrectly and when the server is restarted, it cannot be boot up because there is an issue with the enumlist, usually it is the enumlist format is incorrect or the db value in the table does not have a matching enum value in afmflds.enumlist.

SSO authorization
Previously, for On premise versions, Archibus had some configuration files that allowed the authorization process (to give a role to the user based on an AD security group). In SaaS, this is not possible as it is not considered as a standard feature.
The suggestion is to add this process as standard for SaaS, as there are several companies that require it. The process would work like this:
• Customer IT team creates the needed groups in AD, using archibus-identifiable encoding (e.g., starting with an ARCH prefix)
• Archibus admins create new roles in Archibus, with the same encoding than…8 votes -
Prevent users from assigning licenses not present in the license file
In v25.2, we can still assign processes and mobile application security groups to users even if those applications are not licensed. The system would be more user friendly if it did not allow this.
