I agree about the view-level security. The current mechanism is really not suitable for production environments. We have run into issues with that feature as it can take hours to restart and wait for the system to index the views. This makes downtime unacceptable for any required changes during business hours, or even unscheduled restarts due to many external factors.

Security becomes more and more critical for our clients.
Significants efforts have been made but there are still gaps and practical things to be done.
For example, when you activate view-level security, the index of views accessible to a user is refreshed only at server restart, which makes it dangerous to activate for production environment where the server cannot be restarted easily.
