Improvement to Workplace Portal - room selection on the floorplan with dynamically adjusted blue dots and adjusted text size
The new workplace portal has a section where if one tried to either book a meeting room or book a desk, the user would then typically see a floor plan. One example of this is the NC05 building (the hq database data) where the highlighted rooms with the blue dots hovering above represent a room that can be booked or reserved. This blue dot is not very dynamic in its size and seems to be a one size fits all. The other issue is the text size which is stale. For clients that want to really expand product use on an organization scale, this one size fits all blue dot and the fixed text size impedes the concept of a web responsive design. When a user tries to zoom in on the floorplan, it doesn't help that the blue dots do not know how to resize accordingly and the text size remains as is. We've had some different client feedback who have reiterated this issue so I'm just emphasizing what they have said.
The following issues occur for the end user:
For small floor plans - the dot is so large it basically covers the entire room and you can't see a thing. For one instance with a very square floor plan with 16 bookable desks. Basically all the user can see are 16 blue large dots but it was impossible to see the desk layout even if you zoom in.
For large floor plans - the dot is in the floorplan is fine on the zoom extents but the moment the user tries to zoom in, now the blue dots are large and the text is way too large.
This big blue effect is a bit of a show stopper for folks who are trying to return to work. The resulting effect is when a employee is trying to find a desk and feel comfortable and safe to return to work and due to the various shapes and sizes of floor plans, a user needs to, at some point, zoom in to view the desk of interest. Yet when the blue dot is largest visible thing on their screen it really doesn't answer the client's question of 'Can I see how this layout works for me for the day I chose to return to work for a unassigned desk that I'm not even familiar enough with?'
I have some attached examples on the mobile device:
-bigblue.jpg - This is a mobile screenshot, there's certain desks where you can't really see it because the big blue dot is in the way.
-bigblue2.png - This is a desktop screenshot, not only is the big blue dot now as large as a fist, the text remains large.
-TheFistOfTheBigBlue.jpg - Then to make the point, I've attached a photo of my fist against the computer screen. Actually, I can make the blue dot the size of my head but let's not take a photo of that.
We're really asking this gets considered for an update. Please and thank you.

When I performed a demo for a client, this was the first thing the client noticed and commented on. Just as this User Voice suggestion states, smaller floor plans are almost unusable due to the inability for it to scale.
Dominic Battaglia had also created a User Voice suggestion on my behalf.

I have conducted a couple of presentation where the client commented on the appearance of the blue dots and remarked how it obstructed the room code text it was associated with. The end result is that the client may inadvertently select the wrong room and have to reselect. This certainly takes away the ease of use and simplicity of the product.

Currently, the Workplace Interface displays bookable rooms with a large, opaque pin that can be clicked to select the room. The suggestion would be to make the size, visiblity, and/or opaqueness of this pins configurable by a BP, in order to fit a client's preferences.
