Set the default booking option to All Day if "Both" option is selected in the ‘Booking Type’ section on Settings/Desk Booking Settings page
Currently, we have three booking type options available on the settings page:
'All Day Only'
'Hours Booking only'
'Both' (allowing hourly and all-day booking)
Our organization had to enable the option "Booking for the whole day only" due to constant conflicts between users. These conflicts arose because the default booking setting creates reservations for a couple of minutes or 1 hour if I am not mistaken. Employees often believe they have booked a desk for the entire day when, in reality, they have only reserved it for a short period.
As a result, we had to disable the Both' option to mitigate these issues. However, this solution has not been satisfactory for our stakeholders. They value the flexibility of hourly bookings, particularly in our small offices with high occupancy rates.
To strike a balance, we kindly request an enhancement in the application's functionality. Specifically, we propose that when the 'Both' option is selected in the Booking Type section, the default booking behavior should be set to "All Day Booking.". So users will book a desk for all day by default, but at the same time, if needed, they will be able to decrease a booking period by several hours. This change will prevent conflicts caused by unintentional short-duration bookings and ensure that users who require hourly bookings can still access this feature.
We understand the importance of flexibility in booking types, and this adjustment would allow us to maintain a high level of user satisfaction while avoiding the need for costly office space expansion.
