Maintain Case of AutoCAD File Names
When using drawing check-in/check-out, copies of the DWG files on the local PC are named in all lowercase, despite them being in uppercase on the server.
For example:
• File on server: BL-FL-01.dwg
• File on local PC: bl-fl-01.dwg
We have found this can trigger case-sensitivity errors, especially when XREFs are involved, in third-party applications that utilize and process the AutoCAD drawings. The errors are not within Archibus itself and there is no impact to Web Central or Workplace. We have clients who use third-party tools to publish AutoCAD drawings (stored on the Archibus server) for purposes outside of Archibus. When the XREF path in the DWG changes from having an uppercase file name, to having a lowercase file name, it prevents the tool from recognizing the XREF. We have noticed this behavior in two different third-party tools thus far.
Requested action: Archibus should not alter the case of DWG file names.
