Providing a status comment prompt without changing the status
When a status changes in a work request, the comments field is displayed for the craft to submit an update for the requestor.
It would be ideal that when a craft wants to add another comment to send a notification to the requestor they do not want to prompt a change in status.

I think that all timestamps (start/stop) should be at least asked to add a comment. I agree that it would be a good idea to have a check box to send the comments as an email notification to the supervisor and/or Requester
